When people think of orchids, many probably picture exotic plants available as houseplants. Yet there is also a considerable numer of native orchids in Switzerland. Many of the grow in open woodland. We’ll meet in Meikirch at the Käserei bus stop. On our walk to Frienisberg, we¨’ll discover some of these orchid species. We’ll roam through the forest along forest paths and discover, for example, the lesser butterfly orchid, a native orchid species. Our walk takes us along the historic route from Bern to Aarberg and then on to Frienisberg, from where we can take the Bus back to Bern.
